My 9600Pro is on its way.
Well, I finally broke down an ordered a 9600Pro from Newegg last night, show it shipped today. I am quite excited, it will be replacing my 8500 LE so I am hoping for some real improvement.
Thanks to everyone who has praised/reccomended Newegg as they had the best deal on it and I feel comfortable ordering from them.

I like Directron because they are local, but price has alot of pull. And, after all the glowing reviews I had to give Newegg a try.

I want to get a Radeon 9600 for my laptop that uses this new FlexFit technology...took a look at it yesterday...it's the same size as my RAM slots.

My Dell has something like that, its not FlexFit, something older that Dell used. I can get a GF4 for it, but I dont have a real need for it in the laptop. But just having the ability in a laptop is way cool.

Will do, looking at upgrading my XP2100 to a XP2500 Barton. If I do I will try the card first and 3D Mark it before doing the processor.

Ok, here are the inital results using 3DMark 2003.
With 8500LE 128meg- 1320
With 9600Pro 128meg- 3289
Overall the difference is pretty noticeable. There are some arifacts at times, but very brief and dont interfere. I havent done any tweaks and my board only supports 4x so it is hindered a bit. I did reinstall XP after and the benchmark didnt change. Latest 4in1 and such as well.
Overall I would say it was worth it. Just need a new board now....
Here are the full system specs:
XP2100
Gigabyte 7GAVRXP 2.0
512 Meg 2700 (Kingston I think)
Onboard sound disabled
Audigy Platinum
