Another K7SEM question

I am running a K7SEM mb with mem 256pc133m, it is a 900 Mhz Duron board is 40-012-AO1103 ver 1.0a and I am running XP PRO I believe I have updated
the necessary drivers but still have this problem, when I shut down and restart the video display always shows 8 bit I can change it to 32 bit and it works fine till I reboot, can anyone out there in video land running the same equipment tell me what version of drivers they are using, and hopefully not having my problem I am ready to give up. This board has on board video and I have gone to various sites and tried varios drivers but to no avail
thanks

John

You need to uninstall both your AGP driver and your video drivers. Let the mobo reboot and load a standard Windows VGA driver. Best is the basic VGA driver. DL the latest drivers for your mobo. I see that ECS is a generation or two behind on the SiS drivers. Go to www.sis.com. and DL the latest AGP and video drivers for your chipset (730). Install the AGP first then the video drivers. Reboot each time. Good luck.

ps. It looks like the latest AGP is 1.16 and there seems to be two files for the Video drivers. one from Jan 03 (47MB) and one from March 03 (0.5MB). They also look like they have the same name so save them to different folders or change the name on the second one. I'm guessing that the newer smaller one is a patch for the second one so install them in date order. I hope that there are ReadMe files in there that will clarify. You may need to use IE to actually DL the files. I can't seem to do it with Netscape 7.x?!?.bh.
