DVD Burner Recommendations

Well, I'm getting sick of swapping out CDR after CDR every week when I back up my server, so I'm thinking about finally making the jump and getting a DVD burner.

Any recommendations?

I've seen a lot made about the whole DVD-R vs. DVD+R thing. Does anyone have any "real world" experiences they can share? Is there really a big compatibility difference? Short of buying the new Sony dual format drive, which would you recommend? What brand?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide....

Thanks, King. I'm aware of the Sony drive, but I'm looking for other ideas as well. It's more expensive than the other drives, so I'd like a few alternatives.

You really can't go wrong with either format at this point in time. I have the pioneer 104, a 2x drive (.5hours per disc) and have nothing but good things to say about it. Yes The SONY's are good drives; the pioneers are also excellent choices. Shop around.

Also if you have a DVD player you'll probably want to make sure it's compatible with which ever drive you get. dvdrhelp.com has a list of virtually all standalone dvd players and their compatibility.
