Need help formatting new Maxtor 160gb

I installed the drive and have it hooked up to the ATA/133 card that came with it. Now I need to format it. I inserted the disk which came with it and installed the Max Blast software, but when I go to run the software I get an error message. How can I format this drive?

I believe the drive is being recognized, the error message when i try to open the MaxBlast 3 softwar is:

MaxBlast 3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

It's one of the XP windows that has the send error report/dont send buttons. I cant get into the program so i cant format my drive

I fixed it. Here's what was wrong:

The CD of MaxBlast 3 that I had was specifically geared toward the 160 GB drive. I had the jumper on the drive set to the slave position. When I called Maxtor they said to remove the jupmer all together. They said on this drive putting it in the slave position limits its size to 33 GB, meaning the CD software wouldn't read it. I removed the jumper and formatted the drive no problem.

Now I have 200 GB! I might add a 10 GB drive today tho....
