mp3 from html

First off sorry if this is in the wrong place but not sure where it fitted

Q: Anyone know how to play an mp3 file in winamp from an HTML link.

so if you have playME as the link when you hit the link it plays that song in winamp.

have tryed using the play list but it just open's up as text.

This is going to depend on your Internet browser, and NOT on html or http!

Simply download a browser which allows you to select which program to use for which MIME types, enter the full path to Winamp for MIME type that corresponds to mp3 files, and then use that browser instead of Internet Explorer

Mozilla currently supports such a feature

any one know a PHP or perl code that will play a mp3 file in
win amp - ie PLay me = play me.php/perl

I don't get it. You want a script to play an mp3 file? When you click a link or automatically when you enter a page?

It could probably be done.

When user clicks the link, it asks what to do with the file, if the user presses 'open' and mp3's are associated to winamp, it will open it in winamp.

If not, then there's nothing you can do about it.

Or you could use a winamp playlist .pls like shoutcast does. Link to it as Muno described. That would push it more towards winamp.
