Question about Abit NF7-S

I intend to buy this Mobo, i know that exists some varietys depending its version 1.1, 1.2 or 2.0...I will buy the 2.0 but
If I ask for a 2.0, this mobo will contains all things that can be in it ?
or exists another version different from this one, like the 1.2 to 2.0 differ from the soundstorm for example....
Thanks

The v.2.0 will contain all components and options that the earlier versions have. The only real difference is that it has the bugs worked out that were in the older versions.

Im curious as well people talk about the Abit NF7-S version 2 does this mean its labelled on the retail box? Is not some BIOS update right? Is there a way to tell them apart?

On my local computer business store they only state the Abit NF7-S and nothing that would say it's version 2.

thanks.

rev 2.0 stands for revision number. the revision is of the the design of the board, the printed circuit board ( PCB ). this has nothing to do with the BIOS ( although, naturally, BIOSs that come with later revision boards should be expected to have "learned" something from the earlier boards ).

I have 5 NF7s (2 1.1s, 2 1.2's and a 2.0). The rev 2.0 NF7-S has it all, including the newest Crush18D chipset, Soundstream, etc. The term Ultra 400 ( or whatever it is ) is a marketing tool; the rev 2.0 NF7(S) has the chipset certified to do the 200FSB(x2).

EDIT
To further answer your question > on the box, there is a pale lime green sticker about 2.5" x 1.5" that should clearly state NF7-S v2.0, it is on the long side of the box, on the right side of the panel. Furthermore, on the board itself, there is a white sticker with #'s and letters ending with the rev #.

If a place is not carrying 2.0's by now, they either aren't that busy, or are less than scrupulous. Anything but rev 2.0 NF7s are what I would consider old stock. You want the rev 2.0 ( if you want the Abit ).

Hope that helps.

ah i almost replied to you where the specific rev 2.0 label are located and i refreshed the page and you did an edit.
Thanks for the extra information it was helpful.

Ill check on the box or inside the MB to see if it greater than rev 2.0. Maybe even faster emailing them..

What is Crush18D chipset and how is it so different?
Oh yeah when you said Soundstream do you meant soundstorm?

LOL, yeah getting confused with some great ( or used to be anyway ) car audio speakers. Soundstorm >> the NF7-S rev 2.0 has it.

The Crush 18D chipset is the latest, and is guarenteed to do 200 FSB ( with PC3200 RAM ) .

Maybe I misunderstod what you said ( bout "greater than" ? ), but it should say rev 2.0.

Here is a pretty good review that explains the chipset on the board. Marketing guys have since got involved and muddied things up some, but the Crush 18D chipset is the same as Ultra 400 ( marketing speak ).

http://www.vr-zone.com/reviews/ABIT/NF7Sv2/

If you want to read more reviews of the NF7-S, they are all over the net. If you go to www.google.com, type in "Abit NF7-S rev 2.0" (or maybe v2.0) + review(s) you should come up with a ton of hits.

I saw a review that also said that if the mobo is redish/orange in color then it is a 2.0.

I saw the pictures of both and you can definately tell the difference in color.

Bland = isn't 2.0
Red/orange = is 2.0
