Kids CCFL too bright?

If I were to put both a colored cathode light and a UV cathode light in the same case, do you think the brightness of the colored light would cancel out the effects of the UV light?

absolutely!
any amount of Non UV light will obliterate the UV effect!
And only one UV CCFL will not do much unless you have a decent amount of UV sensitive extras in case...are you considering doing up the insides with a glow effect...I have alot of experience in this particular subject and have several UV mods that are very cool and inexpensive to do!

Those CCF's are some bright ones for sure. I agree with JP, use only one or the other. You're either going to get the colored effect, or the illuminated effect...not both.

I did a blue ccfl 12" from svcompucycle last time I did a mod. I wanted to try something new. I already ordered 4 uv sensitive blue fans. They already have 4 uv led's built in. I figured that would look pretty cool.

If you do want to use both, try something like I did. UV lights inside, purple neon outside. Notice I said "neon". CCFL would be too bright for what I was going for. Look at the photo's on my site.
