help with Network

Alright, I`ve connected my other PC to the Router (Netgear RP614) and now I can connect to the internet with it.

Though how can I see my main PC: like in a network?

I don`t know what to do?
Network setup wizard?

PS> The router is also a switch!

put both computers into the same workgroup

right click on my computer. click propertise, then name, click change then make them have the same workgroup name.

restart both machines and when you click on the network neighborhood icon you should see the other computer

to connect to the computer or map a drive

go to start> run> type

\\computername\shared folder name

i.e

\\jaysin\music

or if you want to access the whole c drive type

\\jaysin\C$

*excuse the horrid spelling please, im to lazy to spell check

Depending on what OS you have on either machine, may need to set permissions for shares.

Have you set up and shared drives yet? Both PC's need shared drives, and need file and print sharing enabled.

If you have problems with any of this, let us know what OSes you are using, and we can provide specific details of how to do it.

Cheers

Thanks. The reason why I asked is that XP Pro and XP Home have different defaults for networking, and can be a pain to connect together sometimes.

Glad it works. Have fun with your new network!

Thanks alot!

I have a question already: I shared the second computer harddrive and everything is fine, although I can`t write to the disk.

I mean if I want to create a new document it doesn`t allow me to do it...

any idea on how can I have full privileges? Also, to access the some dirs he is asking me for the Password! I didn`t set any!
