Kids Moron Question (I ought to know this)

I ought a know this and I'm kind of embarrased that I don't but.....

I'm doing some backups of my main HD on one machine, (considering slipping a new mobo under it and being preapred for the worst) and have everything of consequence backed up except one thing... My Address book for Outlook Express.

Anybody got a clue as to where to find this thing???

Or do a search for *.wab which will show you where it is.

Hmm, I have seen this question asked a few times, but I have never seen an answer.

The easiest way to back it up, is to export it.

Go into your address book (Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Address Book), click file and then export, you will see a couple of options, WAB, VCard or other (comma separated text etc.). I suppose the easiest one to use would be the WAB.

Once you have everything back up and running, open up your address book, click file and then import WAB - Browse to the saved file, and jobs a good 'un.

Hope that helps.

And don't be embarrassed, its the sorta' thing you either know or you dont.

Do you need the stuff thats in your inbox or sent items folder? If so you may want to copy the .dbx files also.

BC, I'm using 98SE as well. I'll go hunting in there tonight. Guess the ol' In Box wouldn't hurt either, even though I keep it pretty lean. Thanks, folks!

Try DBXtract available here for your dbx files..............

When exporting the wab it's best to export it to a floppy, Then import it from the floppy when your ready.
