Gaming WTF is This?!?!! (Translated: Do I have a virus?!?!)

Just happened to be looking around in msconfig and look what I found in the startup!!! (See attached image)

WTF is that!??!?!

Running ad-aware as I type this and dl'ing the latest virus definitions from Norton.

Anyone seen that before or know what it is? I'll report back what I find...if anything.

Could it be a virus? Have you run VirusScan? Thanks

Could it be related to your PcTel modem?

Ad-Aware found a few things...as it always does. But none looked related to the "thing" in msconfig with the asian writing. lol. Wonder what language it is...and what it means?

Norton didn't find anything either...hmmmm.

I check msconfig once in a while for reasons like what I found today. Whatever this thing is...it's new and I know that I didn't install it. At least I didn't knowingly.

Also...I don't have a PCTel Modem. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that I have one either. The modem I'm using is an HSP56 on a AMR Card.

Gouki... HSP56 (Host Signal Processor 56K) and AMR (Audio- Modem Riser) is not the manufacturer rather it is type of modem, a software based modem. More than likely you DO have a PCTel modem since PCTel is famous for making this type of "cheap" modems. For some informative reading on your type of modem go to: http://www.56k.com/reports/winmodem.shtml

If you really want to know who made your modem look more closely at the modem for a mfg name and if you can't find one look for the FCC Id number screened on the board and go to http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/ Enter the first 3 digits of the FCC Id # from your modem and you should get the Mfg.

someone probably installed either some multi-lingual program, or a virus that disguised itself by using a foriegn language.
