only PAL in tv out

just bought an ATI radeon 9000 off ebay for my gf's pc so she can watch movies on her tv, but there is only PAL - * for broadcast settings. USA is not listed in countries. my gut tells me this is definitely not good. any body have any resolution?

Off Ebay, huh? Did the seller claim it could support NTSC?

Normally the TV-out can be set to either NTSC or PAL. This is in the Radeon drivers. Some cards have a hardware jumper for this though. RTM.

i got the latest drivers off ati's site. RTM now.
the description just said svideo out, didnt say anything about types supported

ummmm.... the manual is a 8" x 6" peice of wax paper folded in half. doesnt look like the original from ATI. it just has installation instructions on it.

there are no jumpers on the card. crap. i think i got jipped. the box says ST Lab on it with all the radeon stuff. it was sealed. what should i do?

You're running off SVideo? Then check your connection - if the input you're using on the TV set doesn't actually do SVideo-In, you'll end up b/w as well.

It's not like card designers can screw much up with the TV-out feature on a Radeon 9000 - it's integrated into the main chip.

First and above all, check your cabling. Then use the TV-out settings page in the Radeon driver properties.

hong kong. using s-video from and to the tv. the picture flickers and jumps

it says it supports both pal and ntsc
