Systems CD Burner won't work since new vid card install

Hi all,

CD Burner/Power supply/Graphics card related problem.

Ever since I installed a new graphics card (GeForce 4 Ti4200), my CD Burner can't write CDs any more. It can read them, but if I try to burn a CD, the burner makes an odd noise (keeps spinning up, then down again) and the computer freezes.

I was just wondering, because my power supply isn't exactly very powerful, would this CD Burner problem be to do with a lack of power (because the new video card is drawing more power than my old TNT2), hence it being unable to write CDs? Or does it sound like my CD Burner is about to give up the ghost?

Thanks in advance,

WoOgie

Try again with the old video card. If the cd works then the new video card may be drawing hard on the power supply.
