3DFX Simply the best!!!!

Ok I think that 3dFX made the best video cards of all time. They can still play with the big boys today even know they have been out for some time now. The Voodoo cards were way ahead of there time in my opion. What do you guys thing.

I have seen at Voodoo5 6000 in action, complete with 3dfx internally engineered FSAA and T-Buffer programming demos. Great stuff for back in the day, especially in regards to special effects capable via the accumulation buffer effect.

Sadly, the only Voodoo cards I still own are V3 PCI models. I keep them because they are still great PCI cards for 2D work, plus I hit the occasional project needing GLide rendering support.

I would really like to have an Obsidian X24 card.

If you want, I think theres a Voodoo 5 6000 selling on Ebay for over $1000 (I think close to $10000). Go for it!

Ebays gonna be your best choice for really any Voodoo card. Oh, and don't try to replace the heatsink with a blue orb. I destroyed a Voodoo and my finger doing that (finger with a soldering iron, don't ask ).

If it wasn't for BF1942, my V4 would still be in my system.

We do trickle-down economy in our house. If I get a new video card, my old card goes to my son. Right now, my old Voodoo 400 is in my 12-year-old daughter's computer, a 400 mhz Pentium II. It runs all her favorite games just great.
