question on Network

I have a dumb question so please bare with me......

I have two PC running XP.
What is the easiest way to connect them toghter in a network to share Cable Internet?

ICS all you need is a computer with two network cards and a cross over a cable

a router all you need is a cable for each computer to hook into the router
