Systems Ndis.vxd, Nkter.vxd device loader

Hi all. Aftering installing a Netgear wireless pcmia card to my toshiba laptop I get a yellow exclamation point in the device manager and the following message " The ndis.vxd, netkern.vxd device loader for this device could not load the device driver (code 2). I've updated the drivers and did a clean install of win98. Also some tinkering in the registry. Help me please

Wondering if you ever found a solution. I just came across the identical problem "The NDIS.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)" after installng a D-Link DWL-G650 wireless card in a Dell lattitude running 98SE.
Any Luck?

Is the PCMCIA set up and working properly? Are there any exclamation marks in device manager? Is the card plugged in?
Get any applicable windows updates.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot:
WELCOME TO TECHIMO!

Thanks for your welcome and quick response. I've been using (and Playing) with PC's and Mac's and systems almost since inception. Not my Job, but I am an EE.

Is the PCMCIA set up and working properly? Yes

Are there any exclamation marks in device manager? Yes, the "Internet Connection Sharing" device. That's the one that "Properties" is giving the messages. The message continues "To fix this, Update Driver... The problem is there IS no driver update, at MS or other.

Is the card plugged in? Yes, in fact the card works. The odd thng is I can access files on computers within the LAN but not to the outside WAN world. It seems the "Internet Connection Sharing" device is the culprit but there's no updates.
Your help is greatly appreciated and I'm sure there will be many others with this problem as as more and more people go wireless with a 98SE jalopy.

So, you're sharing the internet THROUGH the laptop as in dialing up on this box?
If you're not connecting to the internet directly from this machine, don't enable internet connection sharing.
If you're connecting to the internet through another machine, that is running internet connection sharing, then what you need to do is this:
Right click network neighborhood and choose properties.
Remove the ICS device, and anything relating to it.
select the TCP/IP protocol relating to your wireless card, and click properties.
Now, I don't have a Windows box to hand, but what you need to do is set the default gateway and DNS server to the address of the machine sharing the internet. (If you're using internet connection sharing, its 192.168.0.1) The procedure may be different as you're on wireless, and simply removing the internet connection sharing and setting the IP to auto-assign may do the trick, if the wireless access point has a DHCP server built in.
Hope that helps some, if not, post back.
