AMD underclocking??

I read somewhere that compaq and many other laptops underclocks somehow when I go into my system info (control panel/system) it keeps saying 662MHZ and its suppose to be 1.33GHZ (XP 1500+). Does anyone know how I solve this its really annoying it happens with and without the power connected.
Thanks

you need to go into the bios shoulrd be under cpu pnp setup and change the settings from 100/100 to 133/133 I might be wrong on the 133/133 settings but thats basically what you need to do it bump it up till it reach the correct speeds.

whats the model laptop you have and bios thee's probably some special way to get to the advanced settings. Compaq's and laptops aren't really my thing but I'll try my best to give you a hand. It might be under something like advanced chipset or advanced features. You may even have an uncustomizeable bios wich means you might have to flash it. And some compaq models require you too boot from a floppy with a bios setup program.

according to your screen it shows the cpu as running at 1325 mhz so I don't see any problms noer do i see what your talking about the 662 you can d/l cpuid or another utility to check and make sure its at the right speeds but it looks right to me

Yeah its fine here it says 1325MHZ but it actually is ~600-700MHZ when I do check up and when I also go to system controls like I said above it does the same thing.
