any suggestions for new mobo?

i will be getting a new mobo within the next month or so, and i really dont know what to get. i have been checking out the msi's and epox, but basically.....give me your suggestions, but these are the necessary items

AMD
400fsb
nforce2
firewire
onboard lan

I am planning on getting this ram geil
and i will probably get a barton 2600.

it will also have to be compatible w/
ti4200 128mb
Santa Cruz
80gb western, 80 gb maxtor
liton cdrw & dvd

I know that some manufactorers had problems with the type of ram, so i would really like to get that geil or maybe crucial. any suggestions are welcome

any thoughts on this msi

to be honost you should just get what ya like . most higher end boards , i am assumeing thats what you are talking about , are all going to proform well . if you want to overclock the abit boards are ledgendary for overclocking . if you aren't into that then most of the nforse boards out there will work for you . if your get abit or asus just make sure you get the 2.0 revisions and they will do the 400fsb cpu's that are comming down the pipe . or get the boards with the nforce ultra 400 chipset .

yes if you want to overclock don't settle for less than pc 3200 ram . the winbond chip ram is supose to be very good .... i have never used it but it is spoke about HIGHLY on the internet by the tweaker geeks . but if you aren't going to overclock just get pc2700 it will run the barton 's no sweat ... unless you get a 400fsb cpu . then you will need the pc 3200.

GB service is scary

Just be careful with the Gigabyte boards in first revision. I bought a 7VRXP this time last year, Rev. 1 and it was underpowered and would crash in 3D apps and POST all the time. As I result I had to deal with their RMA department and it was a total nightmare. I had to pay all shipping costs, it spent 5 months in the shop and they ended up losing my board.

Moral: Get a 2nd rev or or higher board and Gigabyte Customer Service is an oximoron.

I'm looking at getting an Abit NF7-S Rev 2 or I might wait and see what the Asus KT600 boards are going to be like.

even though i am not getting a 400fsb processor, i want to have a mobo that can handle it when i do get one. i am getting the 3200 also just so that way i can ensure it will work w/ a new 400fsb. Theoretically, if i overclocked to 200fsb and brought the multiplyer down, would that be 400fsb?

I have checked the gigabyte boards,i use one currently, but since there is no firewire on board, it makes me look else where. as for the bad gigabyte stuff, i have never had any problems with them. i wanted to oc a little, and in the past, gigabyte isnt the choice for oc'ing, any improvements?
