New site ALL READ
I was talking to a member of the forum today (sixf00t4) about the site he was trying to make and after talking to him about it we realized it wouldnt get too many hits. We were then trying to figure out a site we could make that would be popular and possibly profitable. If anyone here has any good ideas for a new website please post them. I can design the site and my thought was we could get a few guys from these forums helping with the content etc. I was thinking maybe a good hardware site but there are many out there so we would need something unique. Any ideas are welcome, doesnt even have to be a computer related site if we can come up with something good.

...and maybe if I could work out an idea like that I'd be driving around in my Porsche instead of flippin' burgers?? LOL
Seriously, I'll be interested to watch this site, and contribute to the new site if possible?!

Lets see here, you want to start a computer Hardware site that is built upon the knowledge & exerience of folks from this forum.
Are you going to call it techimo?
Seriously though, if you're itching to build a site, look around for non-profits, or others who need a site, or need a new site and volunteer your services. Do it for free, show them the site, and if they like it I'll bet they'll use it.
As for websites being a moneymaker.....LOL....it ain't the 90s.

Yes I will have to agree. Porn sites are the number 1 visited sites, making any other professional site look like a cheesy personal site. They get in access of thousands of hits a day.
And if its free.....god help you and your poor server.

Just look at the "Girls Gone Wild" guy, started making amateur videos for FREE (he didn't pay anyone) and now he has his own private jet...
But I digress, the business model of porn sites can be applied to any form of business. I feel that any site which provide value added content should do well. As long as the consumer visitor feels that the content available is worth the fee associated.
If you build it, they will come.
