avatar maker?

anyone know of any free avatar software that i can capture images. Or any other way of creating one. Any help would be great.

There is no software I know of that is designed for avatars directly. The GIMP and Microsoft Photo Editor (comes with Office) are the ones I use to make avatars with. I haven't made animated ones tho, which I assume is what you want to do.

how animated are you talking? like a few frames or like a small video clip? If your looking for a few frames use Adobe Imageready. If you looking to cut down a video to a small size I can talk to one of my friends to find out how. I think he uses a different adobe program.

there was one program that i used before but it does seem to work anymore. was wondering if there was others. not really looking to animate just capture images. the problem i had before was shrinking the image down in size. that program i had did it easy

So all you are truying to do is crop/shrink an image? Any program can do that. That can be done is MS Word lol.

ok so that may have been a dumb question to ask. I just remember I had problems before so i thought there was an easier way.

As far as making animated gifs for use as avatars, the Ulead Gif Animator 5. Very simple to use. Of course it isn't free, though :-(

if your looking to resize or convert images, i use this program its totally free and does an excellent job.

I've been trying to use photoshop. It works but as you can tell from my current avatar it turns out kinda blurry and pixellated. What should i save image under. I tried .jpeg and .gif. There were many choices ,whats the best or would they all be the same. Most avatars on here are crisp images and I would like the same

i use jpeg, i think its just a better format.
