I have done some web design work before. Generally people want to see a sample before they commit to you, because you are not going to work numerous hours and end up having them say "No, thats not good enough." Usually you would charge a flat fee that would cover Domain, Hosting, and search engine submittion. I used to charge about 150 for this. Most domain names you can find for $20 or less if you look, unless you want something really popular. And I can't imagine your waking a huge site, so the starter package on most hosts will work, they run from 5 a month to 15 a month. It depends which you pick, IMO pick one with a friendly control panel. After that flat fee web designers usually work per hour. If you are just using HTML, or if you are using a WYSIWYG editor (Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc.) Your hourly fee so be pretty low, like $20 an hour. If you are coding the page yourself and if you are using any other languages (PHP, Javascript, etc.) then your hourly fee goes up. Hope this helps
