Ordering fans.....what speed rating?

Hey guys,

I'm ordering my case fans right now and I need to know what the usual speed and decible rating is for a good fan.

Asus Deluxe Mobo
Barton 2500+ processor
Works 430watt PSU
Probably an Abit video card
a cd/rw drive
a dvd/rom
some kind of recommended memory
A fan controller and temp. guage

I don't know what a good fan is verses a bad fan.

depends if you are overclocking.
If you are not, you won't need the high CFM fans, so you can go for the quieter ones.

For me, any 80mm fan which is above 30-35 dBA is just too loud.
and for that size and CFM, you will get about 30 CFM

I will be overclocking a little bit. Just messing with the FSB and multiplier.......oh who am I kidding. I'll probably have it begging for mercy within a week.

is 36cfm good? I wanted to get some of those led fans, but they don't push out 50+cfm like some of the plain black ones.

I'm browsing svcompucycle.com right now.

Sunon makes great fans. I just ordered one but i havent recieved it yet so i cant say about the noise. Heres a good one:

I use a 120mm Sunon as a 7v intake, and it generates a respectable breeze thru the case without being too noisy....
but I'm based in UK so wouldn't be much help with suppliers.

I've also had 120mm and 80mm YSTech fans too, which are higher cfm, but VERY noisy (IMHO)!

If you get a fan with a 30+ dba rating you'll wish you had never seen it or heard it! I try to buy something quiet, low to mid 20's dba. Go to www.nexfan.com They have lots to choose from and excellent prices.
