Need an HTML editor

I am looking for a good Html editor that is free. I would like to have one that has some good templates to begin with because I am somewhat of a novice. I read some really good reviews on 1st Page 2000 but when I went to download it, the link was dead. Have they folded or changed the name? Hard to believe that the software would just disappear given the excellent reviews it recieved.

I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

ChrisK

I would greatly apprecite you sendin it to me whenever you get the chance. LMK how you want to do it.

Notepad? lol I just finished a class at my local community college and we had to make a website with notepad. The god awfulest experience! I hace never typed <<<<>>>>> so much in my frickin like life! But, I suppose if you want complete and unrestrained control over your code, that is the way to go. I imagine that people that use it all the time must save allot of templates....

Thanks all!

I mainly use notepad. For massive pages, I'd rather skip the hassle and use WYSIWYG. In that case, Netscape Composer is a good one. If you have FrontPage, you can also use that.

Frontpage is alright, but it puts things into your code that you have to go in manually and fix. Also, its pretty basic. The theme feature is nice though. I think Dreamweaver MX is the best WYSIWYG editor right now. GoLive isnt bad either.
