gentoo livecd and kde?

Hey, I just downloaded the livecd of gentoo for ppc and it boots up and everything (then you do the "Xeasyconf")...

The file name I downloaded was the gentoo rc7 kde iso. However, after running Xeasyconf and then typing in startx, I get a twm (I think) window manager session, not KDE.

I'm looking for a portable replacement for Mac OS 9.1 (which sucks grits by the way), so there must be a non-involved way to get right into KDE right?

Go into /etc/rc.conf where it says DISPLAY MANAGER= say GDM. At the bottom where it says XSESSION= say KDE. Go back to the prompt and "starx" will launch the KDE login screen and take you into KDE.

I wish I could build a custom disk that would run the Xeasyconf and startx with that set like on its own.

I know so many frustrated students that would actually jump at the chance to use Linux just because it's not OS9...

granted it's for x86 but I'm sure it must be possible for ppc too with the correct adjustments
