Kids Abit Boards....

Any good? Thinking about picking up the IS7-E for the new hyperthreading P4's. If anyone has any experience w/Abit boards in general, let me know how it's treating you. Contemplating Gigabyte as well.

I`ve never had any probelm with ABIT, plus their RMAs and Tech support rocks!

There`s an ABIT Forum, which is really active over at abit-usa.com

I have recently seen a bunch of Abit boards go kaput and one with a second cpu socket that didn't work.

I know someone who received an Rma'd board that was warped.

I have always held them in high regard, but lately I have been looking into other companies boards.

I had the KT7-raid, loved the softmenu III.

Bought the KG7 board, again, loved the board.

Was a bit too early on buying a new mobo, so now I have the A7V8X, else I would've had the NF7 board.

I like Abit very much, even when I had a defect bios chip and called them, they said they would ship it for free, but it was near my town, so I said I could come pick it up.

And, the same day, I could come pick it up, just gotta love that kinda service.

The Abit boards are as good as any. Decent quality, generally lots of features, good tech support, and reasonable prices (except for the "high end" models). Every manufacturer will have a defective board now & then, but you really don't see too many horror stories about Abit boards.
