Outdoors NE2000 installs ok but won´t work!

I just installed Win98 SE on a Cyrix-m1, 16 ram, 2 GB HD. It detected the ISA network adapter RTL8019AS as a NE2000 compatible card and installed ok! On my computer's propreties it shows the drivers that nstalled fine(no yellow exclamation signs ,red X or anything!) There are no conflicts with IRQs and all looks great! The LAN is perfectly set up, cables and all...Other PC's are working ok. But guess what! I can't see the net I tried installing a specific driver for a RTL8019AS ISA card for Win98SE and it didn't like it! I always get a message at Windows start up that there's something wrong with network card and I also get a yellow sign on the driver! So I removed it and Windows detected it again as a NE2000 caompatible and reinstalled the drivers just fine, but I still can't see the network!!! Please help! I heard these cards are bitchy to install! It works fine with DOS drivers! There are no PCI slots for me to stick a decent card in! Thanks

Often that is simply the IRQ (even though Windows won't report anything as beign wrong). Use the NIC utility to verify what the IRQ shoudl be then setWindows accordingly. If you don't have the utility, just try changing the Windows' driver resource setting to the various common IRQs for a NIC (9, 10, 11, etc).

DVNT1, you were right! I simply looked at all devices to see what IRQs were being used and then I changed to an unused one(IRQ 9) and it didn't work, tried another one(IRQ 5) and boom! Everything worked great!! Thanks a million!
