9700Pro driver problems

This is my first ATI card, It's a Sapphire Atlantis and I can't get the drivers to install in XP Pro. I've tried safe mode, I've tried "VGA" mode, neither work. A7N8X mobo if that's relevant.

What do I have to do to get this thing up and running as it's supposed to?

I've tried the latest catalysts and the ones supplied on the CD. No joy with either.

Spent the past couple of days testing ...result is the nForce2 drivers were corrupted, nothing to do with the card at all, stupid nVidia don't like to play host to their biggest rival.

That's good to see that you fixed it , good to see that people fix it themselves, great learning experience, and the best part, they say how they fixed it, as not everyone else knows how to.

Wait so what did you have to do to get that fixed? I'm getting a motherboard with the nforce2 chipset.. and a radeon 9800 pro.. am i going to run into problems too?
The board is a gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro if that need to be told..

I don't think you'd be running into problems as thousands of users have that combo and have no problems whatsoever. Also, since you're going to use the 9800 Pro, you'll have a more mature card and it'll give you less headaches.

Media I'm Back!

Sorry for the delay in replying guys!

I did a repair installation of XP Pro, It left all of my apps/data intact. But it wiped out the nForce drivers completely, and so I could re-install them fresh! Once I was sure it wasn't the card at fault I transferred my files to a new HDD. I had to re-install a few apps before I felt safe to surf. My hardware upgrade is now completed for another 2 years.

Upgrade Specs:
A7N8X DLX
512Mb Samsung PC2700
Athlon XP2600+
Sapphire Radeon 9700Pro
17" Hyundai Monitor
Western Digital 80Gb HDD
Samsung 40Gb HDD
Pioneer 16x DVD
Teac 12x CD-RW
Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 Speakers
etc, etc...

Thanks for all of the suggestions that kept me on my toes (thinking)!
