Can someone explain what a PGP key is and what it does?

pgp is a software for encripting e-mail messages... a pgp key is needed if you receive an e-mail from somebody using pgp.

to decode it.

something like that.

it's pretty good =)

you generate a code with a public key from the person you'll send the mail, then this person receives the mail and uses his own key to read the mail (it's the best mail/ICQ security program in the world!)

BTW not every Country in the world accepts it, so find out which version of it is legal in your country (in swizterland you can use the best one)

I think is a bit too much if you are not sending sensitive email all the time....

this is a site for freeware PGP programs (i think they're all fine for Austria)

just download it and generate your key, it's easy explained, but just post if you got a problem

Which one should I get GnuPG 1.2.2 (command line) or
PGP 8.0 ?
