What OS should i get?

I am redoin my computer and i need an opinion on which OS i should do. I previously had Win XP but i found it not compatable to nearly anything. I do many online multi player games and things like C&C.

I'd recommend Windows 2000, but chances are most of the stuff that wasn't compatible under WinXP probably won't be under Win2K either. Soo... your next best choice is Windows 98, sad to say.

That's what he just had. He wants something that works better for gaming.

I tried the game on my bros win 98 computer, but the prob is that he doesnt have 3d graphics card so it wouldnt work. I was mainly wondering if win 2k would work for most of the games out right now.

I would go for Windows 2000.

I have just built a pc for a mate with an A7V333 mobo, it has a ti4800, but nvidia drivers work fine with Win2K.

I haven't found anything (yet) that won't load.

and it's faster than XP IMO (hasn't got all the fancy visual crap)

That is just weird, I have Generals working just fine on XP Pro right now. Maybe the fault lies elsewhere.
