Trying to decide...

I'm trying to decide between these two Heatsinks for my XP1800.

I've narrowed it down between them because of their low price, low noise & decent cooling.
I don't overclock a LOT, but on occassion.

Which one would you choose?

The Thermaltake TR2-M2 looks quite a bit like the VANTEC AeroFlow VA4-C7040 which is one of the best rated out there now. More companies are moving to using the tmd drive fans.

I was looking at that one... Looks really nice.

I do like the speed controller on the tr2-m2 though...

The Vantec seems to be a few DB's louder... Do you think that the extra DB's would be worth the slightly better cooling?

noise is a huge concern if you couldn't already tell. hehe

The fan on the Thermaltake is what makes it quieter. I have one and they do seem to be abit quieter, but then again these are 70mm fans versus the 60mm type.

Heres a link if you would like more info on the fans;

and heres a link to the Thermaltake TR2-M2 for $16.99 ;

can you tell my recomendation is for the Thermaltake TR2-M2 ?

I'm inclined to agree with the others. JerryGarcia is right, it does look a lot like that Vantec, and that vantec performs a lot better than the big brother (725 instead of 715; its fan is 25mm tall instead of just 15) to that Evercool you're looking at.

I say go with the TR2-M2 at that link woodbutcher gave you.

Cool, thanks for the advice.

I was kinda leaning towards the TR2-M2 in the first place.

I would go with the real thing - A Vantec. While they both use the same fan, their heatsink designs aren't the same. If you can spend the extra 10 bucks, I would.
