ga-7vaxp question..

motherboard- ga-7vaxp revision 1.2-latest bios
memory- crucial - 512mb 2700 ddr
psu-350 watt
vid card- xabre-400 128 mb ddr
processor-retail amd 2600 256 cache 333 front side bus
hard drive-ibm 120 gxp 80 gig

just bought this new xp2600 333 front side bus processor.. i was thinking of upgrading to 3200 ram.. but seeing as the ram clock setting is now locked in the bios at 166/200.. should i even bother upgrading??
i believe this is a asynch .. or synch issue.. not sure which it is.. its the one were the ram timiming and the front side bus of the processor run at the same timings.. i/e 166/166.. 170/170.. well it seems the 333 front side bus on the processor locks the ram at 166/200 in the bios.. if i woulda known this i wouldve went with the xp2600/266 front side bus.. theres really not any good ram stepping timings on this board but i would really like to run the processor with the 333 front side bus and the 3200 ram at 400 mhz ..
i was thinking of putting in my old xp1800 with a new stick of 3200 ram and having it detect the 3200 ram.. then pop in
the xp2600 and see if it will read the ram at 200mhz.. should i even bother purchasing another stick of ram.. or am i stuck at 166mhz on the ram..
