port 10018 UDP?

I'm checking the firewall logs for my Smoothie...and it's showing I'm getting several connections a minute and sometimes second from maybe 6 different IPs all through port 10018. The source ports seem to all be 41062, 8593, 18215 or something close to any of those. (UDP connections)

What's going on? it seems to stop a few minutes after I start my system. I've run Symantec's online security scans and it doesn't pick up anything. I've run virus scanners on all my systems.

My brother infected his system with the new SoBig.C virus yesterday, which I removed...which by ports and IPs used seems to have nothing to do with my current problem.

Anyone have any clue what it is?

Your IP may have once been owned by someone running a Kazaa or warez server. That happened to me when I first got cable. I was getting buried in connection attempts to some weird port. I released and renewed my DHCP lease and got a different IP and it went away.


Try using Active Ports. It will not only identify the port and source IP, it'll tell you which program is making the connection and allow you to kill the connection. Plus it's free.
