Kids Flat Screen 18.1 vs 19+ displays

Is the $150 price differential between a 18 inch and 19 inch flat screen worth it. I know that I saw a 17 compared to an 18 and it (the 18) looked much better. But, I have not seen an 19 incher and was wondering if anyone had seen them (18 and 19) side by side and if so, what are your impressions....is the 19 worth the extra 150 bucks.

I went from 2 17" CRTs to 1 18" LCD and I love the single - however, I do 't think a 19" is worth the extra $$$

I would say for that amount of money the difference is worth it.

I just went from a 17" to a 18" LCD and it was great and I expect from 18" to 19" would be the same.

I also switched from a 17 to 18 inch, first one cost me a grand and second one only $399. My impression is the 17" was much more comfortable especially for gaming, if anything the 18" is quite large. I wouldnt say it would justify the $150, I would use that money on a quality display rather than focusing on size.

18 = 1280x1024
19 = 1280x1024

so literally you are paying $100+ for 1 freaking inch.
i don't know what is your financial status but for me 1 inch/$100 just doesn't make sense to me.

btw, i have a gateway 18.1 lcd and my bro got a 19 dell lcd. personally, i can't tell much between the two and either does my girlfriend.

that's my 2cents.

I buy my screens base on resolution since that determines the desktop space.

So, if we have:
18 = 1280x1024
19 = 1280x1024

they would both be the same to me if everything else is also the same. I would not spend a dime more. Why?

- the smaller screen will look better since you have more pixel per inch (1280x1024)/18 > (1280x1024)/19.
- the larger screen will be better for DVD and other multimedia stuff due to the larger screen

what you do with the monitor determines what you value more. I value quality more than size. Plus, I use my 22" flat CRT for all of my multimedia stuff.

Quality and size do matter!
I love my 19' Viewsonic Gseries CRT.
It displays 1600x1200 at 75Hz.
THe quality is great. I think games and multimedia is better with CRT.
19' makes viewing more comfortable and high refresh rate makes long period viewing more comfortable!

Just make sure you buy as large as you have now or you won't be happy. Remember CRT sizing and LCD sizing is different. CRT sizing doesn't tell you what the viewable area is whereas LCD sizing is the viewable area.

For example:
I have a 19" CRT (18" viewable) which means I should by at least an 18" LCD (18" viewable).

I'm sure you probably already knew this, but just in case somebody is reading this that doesn't.
