Systems First-person shooter games make me sick

Literally. I can't play or even watch them without getting severe motion sickness after just a few minutes. I don't get sick on boats or airplanes or with flight sim games, just first-person shooters. Why is that? Is there anything I can do to avoid getting sick besides avoiding the games altogether? I was just watching a very cool demo of the new Half-Life game and felt really ill after just a minute or so of motion. The ill feeling takes a long time to subside, too.

I get the same thing sometimes, but usually only from the ones that are super-fluid. I used to try to play RTCW on my system and I could only do it for about ten minutes before turning a nice shade of pale. On my roommate's slower system I could go for like twenty. Weird.

You could have a mild form of epilepsy, which would be kicked off by the flashing lights and sights of the games...
But to the same token, any strobe lighting would likely kick off a reaction.
High moral standards could affect you...

I have the same problem too, especially with ones that have alot of narrow corridors or enclosed areas. Although I got no problem with Medal of Honor and Ghost Recon. Mostly likely because both move slower than other FPS. Big open areas help alot. Probably the reason you don't have problem with flight sims.

I get motion sickness in cars, planes, boats, pretty much anything that moves but I don't get it from first person shooters.

Don't have an answer for u. But does anyone know why when u jump from a high place in a game, u get the same reaction as u would if, u were going down fast in an elevator?

U know the sinking feeling in the pit of the belly.

I notice this alot when I play Quake1 and other first person shooters.

Don't want to play badly enough to take drugs unnecessarily. I'm not sure they'd help anyway. I believe those drugs only help with actual motion, not visual motion.
