Can you record analog music input from a cassete player on to your HD?

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy. In it's manual is says that you can hook up a cassette player to it via the input jack.
My questions then are:
1) Will my computer recognize the casette tapes format and play the cassette?
2) Can you record music on to your HD from a cassette player and then convert it to say MP3?
