Welcome to TechIMO!

Just my opinion, but I'd look for something that had 400 Mhz FSB support...........Abit makes pretty good boards, but that board only supports up to a 333 Mhz FSB which won't be a factor with an XP 2200 but will limit the upgradability of the processor in the future.........I would recommend highly the Asus A7N8X version 2.0 as it has all the features of that board for a little bit more........I would think it would save a fair amount in the long run by lengthing the usefullness of the board by a fair amount.......there are others that support the 400 Mhz FSB that would probably work just as good, I just have had good luck with Asus board, and have the A7N8X Deluxe and have been very happy with it.............

I own 5 NF-7's ( four of them NF7-S's ). The last one is a rev 2.0. It has the latest nVidia Crush 18D chipset, which fully supports the 200 Mhz FSB. In fact, mine is running at 220 FSB x 10.5.

Jeez, I hate to see misinformation put out there. It irritates me when people state as absolute fact something they don't quite have a grip on.

The Abit NF7-S rev 2.0 is perhaps the strongest nForce2 board available right now.
The term "Ultra 400 " is a marketing gimmick. The rev 2.0 Abit has the same chipset as any boards touting Ultra 400.

to answer your question . yes that is a quality board and you are making a good choice if you get it . there are others that are also quality like tha asus , but you can't go wrong if you get the abit .

My mistake..........the places I was looking on that board didn't show the 400 Mhz FSB support........it isn't even listed in the product description on Abit's website.........but I did another search and found the correct info..........I would say that is a good choice especially if you ever plan on overclocking, as Abit is known for being a good overclocking board............
