Retina, comments everyone?

http://www.eeye.com/html/Products/Retina/index.html

techtv's "The Screen Savers " had a demo on this.

Anyone ever heard of this? anyone ever used this?

Good tool? or scary stuff?

If it was on the screensavers it can't be that bad. I'll be reading up on it, maybe even download and try it on my network.

I'm just curious and what your opinions, thanx

I have used it, pretty decent software. You can do the same thing with some free Linux software called nessus, www.nessus.org . Retinia is kinda overkill for home use, but neat to mess with. You can also look at http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/index.htm which is free.

Nothing really scary about it. Basically a big port scanner.

Retina - 16 IP Pack $995

Do you need something for personal use or for your company?

no company, no personal use, just curious, and watch the screensavers when I can ( I work long hours )

I have a home network, DSL, D-Link 4 port router w/ print server
Zonealarm ( free version )
Win98se on 3 machines

so it won't hurt to try it?
or the two siliconjunkie suggested?
