Kids ASUS A7N8X Mobo's

Ok,

After hours and hours of reading posts about the Asus A7N8X boards I finally decided that I would use this model a try for my first build.

I need to know which version would be best for me?

I play the newest games, surf the net, do a little graphic work for friends and family, play with progs like Bryce5, compose school papers for college.....and play the newest games .

I bought the Chieftec case that has UB and Firewire in the front of the case(if that makes a difference).

I'll either buy a 2100+ XP, or a Barton 2500+ and overclock it a little bit to get more bang for my buck. Any suggestions on the board....or the processor for that matter?

you'll want the deluxe edition for the onboard sound if you don't have a sound card (currently) and want to play the latest games.

2nd vote for the Deluxe ...Onboard 5.1 sound, Dual LAN, Firewire, SATA RAID together make the Deluxe an Exclusive board.

[edit] 5.1 sound, not 6.1

Definitely the Deluxe. That's what I'm currently using too.

How is the performance on your Mobo Idigguns?

EDIT:

Do you think I need to worry about a video card right now or just wait? (On a budget)

I built a system with the "deluxe" model in it for my dad a while back.
The thing works great, and there are so many bells & whistles that go along with it...
If you want the play all the newest games I'd definately spend a little to get a nice video card... Like an FX 5600 or a Ti 4200 or something like that.

if you don't need sata or firewire just get the regular model it is about 20$ less and you can use that towards a video card . the deluxe is nice but if you aren't gonna use that added stuff why get it . the regular model has sound and lan onboard also .

Being new to building and all, I want to have the option of using all the bells and whistles when I learn what they are. Heck, I already ordered a case that has a firewire port on the front of it....why not hook it up.

PS:what the heck is fire wire? lolol

it does! No Firewire at all lesser models.

even if the case has a fire wire option its ok you can add firewire later if ou need with an add on card . but thats my advise . fire wire is a way to connect to the pc like usb . like with a video camera or you can get firewire hard drives or cd / dvd burners to connect to it . but like i said if you aren't going to use it right now to say money , you said u are on a budget , i would get the non deluxe and use the saved money for a good video card or other need in the pc . BUT buy all the GUTS , mobo , cpu , and any other parts all together . if you get them one at a time of a few weeks you will be pissed cause the prices drop so fast .
