Win Me damned Restore folder

I have a question about an operating system that everyone hates and that I have on my laptop. The _Restore folder that WinMe uses to "repair" the system in case something went wrong and get it back to its original state (never works) has already grown to the size of 1 GB - not a pleasant thing to have on a 4 GB hard disk. I've long ago disabled the PC Health function that collects information in this folder for the system to use it in order to restore itself, but apparently it doesn't really work. What's worse I can't remove the folder - although some people said I should be able to, after disabling that function. Any suggestions (besides changing to Win98)? I would be greatful to hear any advice.

Have you tried using an "advanced administration" tool? Or somehow editing the Registry? I would do a search for "advanced administration tools" and try deleting the folder with one of them..
