Something Like Remote Assistance

I ave a friend that is using Windows 2000, and I am using Windows XP. I really don't want to sit here and type every thing he has to do, and I would really love to use remote assistance thing that XP has, but it doesn't work with 2000. Are there any programs that do something similar to Remote Assisstance?

Remote assisstance is where I can take control of his computer and see his desktop. That is, untill he presses the stop button.

Thanks

Microsoft has an application you can download that provides XP's remote desktop for Win2K, ME & Win98.

I prefer Remote Administrator [but you have to pay for it].

While that Microsoft utility is useful, it is the client side only of the connection.

If I understand correctly, the computer you need to "control" is your friends 2000 machine. The computer that is controlled is known as the host machine. The XP machine in this scenario is the client, and XP already has the software.

I may be wrong, but I think that utility won't help you.

BTW, PC Anywhere was the original for this type of work, but again you have to pay for it! D'oh!
