Kids POWER SUPPLY

HI, NEED HELP! TRYING TO POWER UP A CAR STEREO THAT
I PUT IN A BOX WITH SPEAKERS. NEED TO BE ABLE TO POWER
UP BY PULG IN ON THE WALL

WHAT DO I NEED?

WILL A 115V COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY WORK

DOES THE POWER SUPPLY USE 12V AND GIVE ENUFF AMPS?
SEE IM NOT SURE HOW MANY AMPS A CAR STEREO NEEDS!

Just look on the power supply to see if the output of the power supply is in 12 volts. As far as the amperage, take the total peak output of the stereo and divide it by 12 volts and that will give you the amp rating necessary to run it..........I would guess about 15 amps or better should run most car stereos, since most have a max of around 45 watts per channel (180 watts / 12 volts = 15 amps).........

Ok, you need to hook up the 12v+ to the YELLOW wire on the PSU, it is your 12v+ and the Black wire next to it on the molex connector is the 12v-(Ground).

I think your gonna need a power inverter to go from the standard ATX connector to the stereo deck. They make them to go into car cigarette lighters and power a PC, but I'm not sure if they go in reverse...
