Kids quick mozilla question(1.4)

hey, as in the pic below, what app do i use to open .exe files rather than having to save them. is this possible?

I see the code for attachments has not been fixed...........

I'll just download your jpg and then open it in the gimp. It's a lot easier for me to take the extra un-needed steps rather than the site fix the code.

hmmmmmmm...........your pic is a link to netscape.exe, so I assume you are in Windows?

Windows Explorer is what runs .exe files isn't it?

No. Windows Explorer is just a file manager. You wouldn't use that to run .exes.

Save it to disk somewhere, then double click it?

If you click "Open" instead of save as, it should run automatically.

I don't use Windows any more. But Mozilla on Windows does normally offer to open exe files, correct?

All I can think is that maybe this is being served with the wrong mime type? I think executable files should be served as application/octet-stream?

nah, mozilla on windows doesnt seem to offer the open option, Vass. it must be somewhere in the mime type setup, i dunno.
