Download and run this

It should tell you everything you want to know, and possibly a lot you don't

OMG, you have a 1000Ghz P3? WOW. I'll take it off your hands for $500

on a more serious note: do you really own a packard bell? sure its not an HP? i don't think PB sells in the US any more...

but its worth trying to dig up their number and asking them for a link to a driver download for your stock parts.

digging through the manuals might reveal what chipset the onboard sound is.

btw, Welcome to TechIMO!

-Chris

[EDIT] whoops! just noticed your in Israel so I guess it is possible to have a PB

Here is the packard bell sound driver webpage...
http://www.packardbell.co.uk/support/node201.asp
If you are able to tell what sound chipset you have then just download the win98 version and install.

Leonhart_project.....good call, slipped my mind
http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.ht...a32&tg=dl-2001
download this, install, and you should be able to get some information on the sound chip!

double click on Aida32 to open the program,
Click on the "+" in front of "computer" to drop down choices.
click on "Summary" and scroll down to "Multimedia"
under "Audio Adapter" there should be a line describing what sound version you have.
Post what that line says
