is there any way to be more specific about the motherboard?

Where did you get "mb850" from?

What kind of comp is it?

Can you see the Bios string when it boots up?? It should be a long string of numbers like 0000-Be6-mrt56-ooo12 or a bunch of letters and numbers like that...on your bios string when it boots.

If you can tell us that bios string or some numbers off of the motherboard itself, we can probably tell you the upgrade possibilities.

From a quick search, an 'MB850' is your motherboard, and the comp you have is a Packard Bell. Is that correct? Here is a link to Packard Bell motherboards... http://www.geocities.com/SiliconVall...4/mother2.html

It would help to know which model Packard Bell you have... i.e. 'PB450' or 'PB430' etc...to find the right manual for your comp and to find its upgrade possibilities.

EDIT:
Here's a few more links that might help you:
Upgrade a Cyrix MII 300

More info on the Packard Bell 850 MB

Hope this helps
