Modems Woes
Installed drivers for modem. Diagnostics failed. Checked properties in device manager and get this message:

"Cannot read Port name in Registry."

Huh?

Never mind, figured it out. I had disabled devices and when I removed them in device manager the modem installed to Com 3 where it was supposed to be and now works.
