At Home another repair tech ?

what is the best and quickest way to find out about a clients motherboard,chipset,etc when your doing a service or about to do a service. For instance when a client calls you about a system and says its a compaq deskpro(and they have no other information)

It's a PC Audit Tool. I print it up and add it to the Work Performed and Recommendation papers I give to the client when they come to get their machine.

Dont Aida and Belarc have to installed and run in the OS?

Does this not present a problem for boxes where access to the OS is denied by security or privacy considerations?

good point...RustyGT..... In that case have the client open the box and do recon. himself to tell you what he sees and then doing a search at .....

mobot is my favorite tool because you can enter in a list of what is physically on the board to narrow it down.
