Computer BSOD while playing games.

All of a suddent last week, my computer started to not work. It would BSOD while playing BF1942. But it would not do it all the time. Sometimes I can play for 3 hours with no problems. Other time its only a matter of 5 minutes until i comes up. All that I could catch was that the error was PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and the file it blamed was nv4dsp.dll (I think, its an nvidia display driver though) I repaired windows as it said that some windows files were corrupt. But the next day I got the BSOD again. Then I unistalled, and then reinstalled my display drivers, but I am still getting this BSOD. I am going to mess around with my page files and see if that does anything. Could it be that my page file is corrupted? How can I fix a corrupted page file?

Thanks,
-Biz

You probably just have a bad Nvidia driver, I've had those before. Just a few months ago, my computer would freeze when playing UT. I updated my Nvidia drivers and the problem stopped.

If the problem is very bad, try changing the graphics driver back to the Windows assigned driver and see if the problem still exists; I bet it won't

Another suggestion, try closing everything that you are not using before playing the game. I noticed that my Win XP computer would get the BSOD if i had Kazaa Lite, Trillian, Bandwidth Monitor, Winamp (playing a song) and UT2003 all running at the same time.

No OC as the last time i did that, i almost fried my card.

I don't want to go back to the windows drivers as it brings down my FPS by 20 frames! I am not going to play a game like viewing a slide show.

I unistalled and updated to the newest drivers. But still got that error. I am using a geforce2ti and herd the newer 40.xx drivers were not good for the geforce2ti, but don't know which ones are the best for geforce2.

I too have a GeForce2 Ti, how ironic.

That actually does make sense that new drivers would not work too great. GF2 is like more than 2 years old is it not?
