Gaming Need to reset BIOS password on Samsung GT6000 Laptop

We have had to recover a laptop from an ex-employee who has been nice enough to enable the BIOS password.

We cannot recover it, and I was therefore wondering what the process is to rest the password.

I have tried removing the CMOS battery and leaving it out over the weekend, but that did not work.

Kind regards

Chris

Not too sure about lab tops but there should be a reset jumper on your mobo that you pull off and move over without the power plug in it...uses the battery to reset.

What chipset is the laptop? Some BIOSes are particularly difficult to change the passwords on.

If you list the brand/model of the laptop, and particularly the chipset it uses, we may be able to find something to help you.

Cheers

In laptops, the method for this differs wildly, the reason being the large number of stolen notebooks - if there were a simple trick around the passwords, then it'd be rather useless.

You're going to have to contact Samsung about this. Have proof of ownership at hand.
