Viet Cong Multi-player Exiting Question

Hello,

I just got Viet Cong and had a question regarding using the multi-player feature. I can get on-line with no problem but what is the correct way to exit the multi-player function? I tried escaping but the PC locks up when I do that. The PC does not lock up when I try to escape a regular mission. Can someone please tell me the correct way to exit the multi-player missions? For reference, I'm running XP.

Thank you,

Hans Groenewold

Hello,

Perhaps my system specs would help. They are: 2.4 GHZ, Pentium 4. 768 MB DDR SDRAM, Winfast A250 Ti4600 128 MB Video Card, Turtle Beach Sound Card, and I'm running XP. I have enough power to run this game and it runs fine, I just can't seem to properly exit the multi-player mode.

I was trying it last night and I got bumped back to the desktop, this was a new one. Usually when I try to escape, the PC locks up. Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Hans

Yes, I have the patch installed. Here's what it does: Getting on-line is no problem. When I go to exit, it asks you if you want to continue or go back to the main menu. You can scroll with the mouse to your choice. When I left click "return to main menu" The PC locks up and I have to turn it off as I can't reboot.

I also have my internet firewall and virus scanner disabled as well as any running programs. I'm sure it's something simple that's happening and I hope someone out there has an answer for me. To be sure, this has to have happened to others besides me.

Sincerely,
Hans

you could always try the good ol' uninstall reinstall, that usually fixes everything.

ShawShank,

I tried un-installing and reinstalling and it still locks up when exiting. I tried installing just version 1.0, then the patch and the result was the same. I tired registering on the the VietCong web site, but they didn't give me the password they were supposed to send me.

Then I tried to re-register and it tells me it can't send another password to the same address and to contact the forum administrator, good luck finding him. Oh well, my buddy at work has the game too and he's a little smarter than me with this type of problem. Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Hans
