you can right click the aol icon in the taskbar and it should say auto start options and turn off any auto start functions.

AOL is popping up because (1) you've set AOL to be your default browser, (2) your internet settings are set to always dial your default connection when asked, and (3) something is trying to access the internet.

The fastest way to fix this is to open internet options, go to the connection tab and check Never dial a connection.

Next, find out what's trying to dial out. One easy way is to install the free Zone Alarm version. Then every time a program tries to access the internet, you'll get a pop-up explaining what is it.

Ain't that the truth!!

Wait till yer' computer can connect to the internet, but can't go anywhere once it gets there! (AOL will tell ya', "you need a new modem", even though yer's is only 2 months old!)

Then, yer' system will start having all kinds of funny little things happening and they'll tell ya' to fdisk, reformat, and reload winders!

With the installation of AOL, you've just entered Purgatory and are in time will enter AOL HELL!!

Harder

I suggest getting a better ISP. AOL has many problems has cost way too much for what you get.
