Hi Vert, I have a Soyo Dragon lite w/ xp1800 @2125mhz fsb170 and miltiplier at 12.5 core voltage 1.7 ddr voltage 2.7 my ram is Samsung 2700 only 128 meg. I had just got the xp1800 tbred and was amazed at how good it is. My temps are 45c full load, 39c at idle. Now to get more memory and a new video board.
BTW, I have had fsb upto 173, but can't get it higher. Only had this cpu for 2 days now, with only 1 day to test it.

Thought you'd like to hear from someone with your type of mb,
Randy

If ya wanna rock bigtime you need cajones to push the juice to these things. Most mediocre mobos push 1.85v no harm. Los Lobos Mobos push way past that. The XP's will take the heat... 90C... and people are afraid of 50. I don't get it. Cavalier? Maybe. Realistic? Yea, go for it, if ya got the cajones.

Ok, i wanna chime in here... First off, regarding this statement

"On another note you dont have to necesary increase your voltage to overclock, this is useful to get higher speeds, but this also only relates to the cpu multiplier overclock. I have been overclocking my PCs for years now and my greatest achievement was running a Duron 1200 at 1500, this was without adjusting the voltage and with air cooling."

It doesn't matter how you overclock (multi or bus speed) at a certain point, the CPU WILL need more juice to run at a higher speed.

Secondly, I have a JIUHB 2100+ and I was able to successfully overclock it to 2700+ speeds by raising my FSB to 166 on my EPoX 8K3A+ board (kt333) however, I DID have to also increase my voltage to 1.775 from 1.6 to keep it stable. Then there is my cousin, who has the same processor with the same steppings which we were able to get to past 2700+ speeds by upping the voltage to a mere 1.65 to keep it stable. So basically, yes you will need to up the voltage in many cases (not all) it depends on your chip and how much you want to overclock... Also, as my example illustrates, even processors with the same steppings can be quite different.
